South Auckland Pilot Wastewater Project

Modular Treatment System for a Growing New Town

Located in South Auckland, where existing wastewater capacity is limited, this pilot project supports the development of a new township with residential areas, light industry, and a tourism restaurant. The facility also doubles as a public education centre, allowing visitors to learn how advanced treatment technologies contribute to environmental sustainability.

  • Initial capacity: 5 tons/day
  • Expansion: modular increments up to 20,000 tons/day
  • Development horizon: 5 years

  • Supports Development – Provides essential infrastructure for new housing, industry, and tourism growth.
  • Educational Value – Open to visitors to experience firsthand how sustainable technologies protect water and the environment.
  • Future-Ready – Final expansion to a comprehensive 20,000-ton/day plant ensures long-term resilience and capacity.
